As a player, Kiri Wills was a NZU21 representative, Auckland and Auckland Waitakere NPC representative and Auckland Diamonds captain before finishing her playing years with Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, who won back-to-back National Bank Cup titles during her time. Working as a Sports Coordinator at Auckland Girl's Grammar School and Director of Sport at St Cuthbert’s College, Wills took on a number of netball coaching roles. She has coached Auckland age-group teams, school teams, the New Zealand Secondary Schools team and Auckland Waitakere NPC team. In 2013 she returned to coaching after having children to be the assistant coach of the Mystics. She was appointed as Silver Ferns Development Squad Coach/NZU21 coach in 2015. In 2017, Wills led the NZU21 team on an unbeaten run to the World Youth Cup title, the first time New Zealand had achieved back-to-back wins at that level. This is Wills second year as head coach of the Stars.
