Kiri Wills was born in Whangarei and bought up in the mighty Far North playing age group reps for Mangonui and Northland. After studying in Otago she has lived in Auckland for the past 20 years playing and coaching Netball.
As a player she was a NZU21 representative, Auckland and Auckland Waitakere NPC representative and captained the Auckland Diamonds before her final years playing for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic, who won two back to back National Bank Cup titles.
Working as a Sports Coordinator at Auckland Girl's Grammar School and Director of Sport at St Cuthbert’s College Kiri took on a number of netball coaching roles. She has coached Auckland Age Group teams, school teams, the New Zealand Secondary Schools team and Auckland Waitakere NPC team. In 2013 she returned to coaching after having children to be the assistant coach of the Sky City Mystics. Kiri was appointed as Silver Ferns Development Squad Coach/NZU21 coach in 2015 and in 2017 led the NZU21 team to Netball World Youth Cup victory winning gold in the final.
She now turns her full attention to the Northern Stars in her first foray into being an ANZ Premiership head coach - and can't wait to get started!
