Leana de Bruin
Leana de Bruin’s netball CV is the envy of many. A World Cup winner in 2003, she’s one of few players to have competed at five world tournaments, is a two time Commonwealth Games gold medallist (2006, 2010) and ANZ Championship winner in 2012. Leana is also one of New Zealand netball’s centurions, playing 104 tests for the Silver Ferns before retiring in 2016. Fortunately, that retirement is only from the international game and she’ll now lend all that experience, tactical nous and professional attitude to the Stars. Leana is keen to pick the brain of Julie Hoornweg and impart her knowledge on the younger players as she eyes a coaching career in the future.
