Rangy in-circle defender Kate Burley will re-join the Stars in 2024, the team she started her elite level career with. After two seasons with the Steel, Burley returns to her home patch on the back of an ever-improving game. Playing both in-circle positions, Burley has continued to build on her defensive abilities through plenty of court time while adding to her credentials. The willowy and athletic defender adds a real dynamic to any defensive end where her quick closing speed, ability to compete strongly in the air and create turnover opportunities are prominent features. A member of the 2022-23 Silver Ferns Development squad, Burley’s hard work has paid off after being elevated to the 2023-24 Silver Ferns squad. She was also part of the 2022 FAST5 Ferns bronze medal-winning and 2023 silver medal-winning teams at the FAST5 Netball World Series.
