Shooter Julianna Naoupu will turn out for the Stars in 2020 when she makes a return to elite level domestic competition following a long absence. A player on the rise when winning the former trans-Tasman title with the Magic in 2012, injury curtailed the progress of the former NZU21 player and Silver Ferns squad member. A naturally gifted player, Naoupu is adept in both shooting positions, has exceptional ball slicks, slick timing and ability to find space. Naoupu represented Samoa at the 2015 Netball World Cup and has been unable to play as a New Zealand eligible player in the ANZ premiership until the 2020 season. She has continued to play netball in her hometown of Christchurch in the interim.
