A southern challenge awaits New Zealand’s newest netball team when the ANZ Premiership begins its inaugural season in March 2017.

The Stars will take on the Southern Steel in their opening match of the new competition, when all six teams gather in Hamilton for the first ‘Super Sunday’ round of games on March 26th. It’s part of a double-header opening to the competition for the Stars, who face the Magic the following day at Claudelands Arena.

The first of six home games for the Stars will be a local derby, taking on the Mystics in round three on Wednesday, April 12th. The Northern zone rivalry will continue in round eight and again in round 12, the third and final Super Sunday weekend which will be played in Auckland.

The Stars final match of the 13 round regular season will be against the Magic in Tauranga on June 12th, before the top three teams progress to the finals series. The top qualifier will go directly into the grand final, with the second and third ranked teams to play off in an elimination match to see who progresses to the decider on June 28th.

Matches will be played on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays, with every game to be broadcast LIVE on Sky Sport.
