Northern Stars is pleased to announce their 2020 Resource Coach, Peter Mc Innes and 2020 Northern Comets Assistant Coach, Michelle Parsons.
The resource coach role will work across both the Stars and Comets campaigns, and will support Northern Stars Head Coach Kiri Wills when Stars Assistant Coach and Northern Comets Head Coach Temepara Bailey has Comets
commitments.
With the Comets coming under the full management of the Northern Stars franchise for the 2020 season, we are looking to ensure robust future succession planning for both teams whilst ensuring both Kiri and Temepara are well resourced and supported throughout the season, said General Manager Northern Stars, Dianne Lasenby
Peter has an extensive diverse coaching background, was Head Coach of the Mainland National League team in 2017, is currently engaged in the NNZ Pathway to Podium Coaching Programme, completed the Sport New Zealand Performance Coach Advance Programme in 2017 and was New World Volunteer Coach of the year in 2015.
Michelle Parsons, who was Apprentice Coach for the Northern Stars in 2019, having previously held Assistant Coach roles for the Marvels and Comets in 2018 and 2017 respectively, is the ideal candidate to bring this experience to the Comet’s campaign.
Both will commence their roles in early 2020.
